Sales Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking a driven and results-oriented Sales Manager to lead the inside sales efforts for our Scenic & Architectural Divisions. This role is responsible for maintaining and growing our client base, overseeing customer retention, and managing the sales process from lead generation to project closeout. The ideal candidate has experience in industrial or scenic fabrication sales, understands manufacturing processes, and excels in relationship-building and project coordination.

Client Management & Retention

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the scenic division’s customer base, ensuring ongoing satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Oversee client retention efforts and assist project teams in ensuring positive client relationships throughout the project lifestyle.
  • Administer customer retention closeout processes to ensure satisfaction post-project.

Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and cold calling.
  • Assist in new client acquisition and manage new customer onboarding.
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients to understand their scenic fabrication needs.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals in alignment with company goals.

Project Estimation & Industry Insight

  • Oversee the estimation process for scenic and architectural projects, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Prepare and present quotes, proposals, and pricing based on project specifications.
  • Collaborate with fabrication and administrative teams to facilitate kick-off meetings for sold projects.
  • Performance Tracking & Industry Insight
  • Track and report on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback.
  • Stay informed on industry developments, materials, and fabrication techniques to provide informed recommendations.

  • Efficient Communicator: Able to communicate effectively with external and internal communications. Able to communicate client needs to the team and to communicate Downtown FabWorks needs to the client.
  • Team Leader: Proper estimation requires gathering information from peers and vendors. This person needs to be patient and communicative while understanding how to drive proposals forward with urgency when required.
  • Problem Solving: This is a growing business and there are always unforeseen challenges. Being able to troubleshoot and communicate through a problem with peers is critical toward this role.
  • Efficient Operator: Understands the value of everyone’s time. The person who fills this position needs to make sure that goals are achieved in a timely manner and manages their workflow accordingly.
  • Organized and Able to Scale: Understands the importance of administrative organization, including file and document management, time management, and software to achieve administrative scale.

Software Requirements

The person in this position needs to be well-versed in the following software:

  • Microsoft Excel
  • Google Drive
  • Slack
  • Time management software, including Google Calendar and all of its functionality.
  • CRM programs
  • Familiarity with project management software preferred. 

Compensation

$70,000 salary + commission (3% of contract value contracts signed by new clients that have been cultivated by you directly, where you estimate the project and bring it to contract / 1.5% of contract value on contracts on clients that are already part of Downtown FabWorks portfolio on projects where you estimate the project and bring it to contract) + benefits (PTO, Health, IRA)
